Every km takes me further from home and closer to Reubens departure. Each minute in the car Brings a new emotions, whether it's from me or the girls. The usual happy and content girl travellers have turned into emotional whiny ones who have very mixed feelings about seeing Matthew and Emily later today. They know they want to see them but know that one night at their house and daddy leaves so emotions are high.
But our drive has been great. Reuben biked from the cabin to salmon arm where we picked him up and drove to just outside pitchard, had lunch and continued. A poonamie just before Merritt meant an ice cream stop. Thanks Riley.....
Then we stopped at Othello tunnels... SO COOL. For those of you who haven't been you should go. To see the original tunnels that trains travelled thru to go from Kelowna to Vancouver is amazing. Bring some fun lights for the kids and let them hide in the crevasses along the sides of the tunnels and it's pretty cool. History and hide and seek all in one adventure!
Now we drive again... No more planned stops till Matt's house, praying for good traffic coming in to Vancouver and not too much whining :)
Well... So much for that.... Riley screamed the last 10 minutes... Kaydence whined the whole time..... It was the longest 1.5 hours ever... Oh well... Such is life. We are now settled into Matt's house in Langley and are "ready" for the weekend....
