A busy August

Wow... i cannot believe we are 14 days into August already, time is flying by.

The last weekend in July was filled with family and it was so much fun.  As one family left another came until on Monday when i will be alone.  TO be honest its been a rough few days.  Watching others celebrating their anniversaries together, holding hands and kissing.  Its all hit me harder the last week than i thought it would.  I had a few moments of many tears and wishing for my husband.  Some of it was exhaustion, some frustration and some of it was pain and some of it was just longing for my husband.  The exhausted was from Riley's lack of sleeping at night, or at least, lack of sleeping in his own bed.  The frustration was because he took 2 bottles and then went 3 days refusing a bottle.  However i am pleased to say that he is now drinking formula from a sippy cup.  Not ideal and not enough to stop breastfeeding but at least for today it was a success.  The pain is from my back, i am not sure what i did but my lower back has been getting worse and worse.  Thankfully I have a back massager from a friend which is working nicely.  Hopefully i can keep swimming and at least carrying riley,  I am sure he has reached 20 lbs by now and its taking a toll on my body.  Today was a better day, Riley slept better which let me be in a better mood.

Speaking of my little man..... he is such a boy.  Every boat and motor that starts draws his attention no matter what.  He has also recently mastered crawling.... and is enjoying his newfound freedom.  He crawls following everyone and loves to crawl straight to the shoes to eat them.  He also loves to eat and eat and eat.  If someone is eating a snack near him there will be whining from his mouth.  He eats everything with such excitement.  He loves being on boat and quad with his sisters, as well as the trampoline.  He has the best smiles whenever he is watching them.  He now today has started to furniture walk, last night he pulled himself to standing for the first time in his crib.... hes getting so big so fast....

His sisters are loving at the family that has been coming.  Kaydence and Jett have been inseparable since they got here which is adorable.  We call them the twins because they are always together.  Both girls love skiing and tubing, swimming and building forts and sandcastles.  Its been amazing to see them flourish outside in God's creation, away from screens and tvs.   Tianna can now swim from the floating platform to the new dock that has finally been finished!  It amazing and not nearly as long as we were expecting which is nice.  Its past the drop off but not too far out.  Kaydence is gaining confidence every day in the water but loves the security of her life jacket.

All in all.  We have gone from 30 plus people at the cabin to just us 4.  Its quiet but good.  Sometimes we need quiet before the chaos of a new school year begins.  I know... i said it... school.... that horrible summer word.... In 2 weeks we will all be on a plane to meet Reuben in Halifax and in 3 weeks we will be on our way home and tomorrow it will be 3 weeks till school starts.  This is crazy and unreal to me.  Some days have flown by and others felt like they lasted a life time.  But week by week it has gone faster than i expected.

Now for at least 24 hours of time with just us 4 and then mom will join us for a few days before dad joins us again just in time for just to go home again.

Prayer Request
-  Peace thru these last 2 weeks of single parenting
- continued safety for Reuben and the other Sea to Sea riders, including the 24 new riders who joined them yesterday
-  Continued health for all of us, and healing for my back

Thanks and God bless.

Teresa
