A bright blue sky and a calm lake is my view this early morning. Its a view i enjoy as i nurse Riley in bed, praying he goes back to sleep... which he did. Today is a day to remind me to stop and enjoy the view, taking time to reflect on the things we sometimes rush passed. As Reuben starts his his journey he is in one valley and I am in another, surrounded by the gorgeous mountains, beautiful streams and crystal clear lakes. Its so easy in our cars to rush and drive from one place to another, failing to stop and treasure the small bits of beauty God created as we pass, so determined to get to our destinations as fast as possible. But right now.... Reuben gets to stop, see each and ever view he wants, taking the time to give God the glory. As you speed passed all the little waterfalls and each mountain, we so often take for granted stop, enjoy the view, get out of your car and just be. It may take an hour or two longer but maybe the kids will be better if you stop and look at a waterfall, enjoy a picnic by a lake along the side of the road or just go for a 5 minute walk... you never know what beauty God has planned for you to see just beyond the highway.
Today was a good day, i got to go for groceries alone, spent the drive to Enderby and back in the quiet still presence of Christ, praying for all those in my life. It was so good to not be distracted by the kids and to just be able to just talk outloud to my God. Then it was a day of playing in the sun. Riley LOVES the hot tub as much as his sister so i suppose i will be in there alot as well....
These first few days are all about setting up a routine and some rules. Hopefully to get some sense of order while we are here for such a long time. Usually a decent bedtime is forgone but with the next 9 weeks looming in front of us we will be in need of a bed time here just as we do at home... however, 7pm the sun is still HOT like fire so it will have to be later. Please pray for me for consistency in these first few days to set up expectations. This is my goal...
- Before leaving the trailer each morning you must have :
- eaten breakfast
- done your daily summer school prep
- read a book out loud
Bed time... 8:30, reasonable and not so hot... could be hard because its still light.... but we shall see how it goes... Things like this will keep me sane and hopefully give me some send of order.
For now, the sun sets somewhere... ending today and telling me to go to bed. Thanks for your prayers.
Teresa
