Then in was a relaxing HOT weekend at the cabin. The girls lived in the hot tub and i lived in a anti-gravity chair. It was great. The men had projects all over the place. The first was a LARGE dock that had floated in last year. We want to create a new top for it and anchor it out in the lake about the same distance as the dock. Eventually we want to put things like a slide, rope swing and diving board on it for fun. But first the top had to be leveled, a frame needed to be built and the deck needed to be laid. Its not done yet but its coming.... I did even mange to help out by starting the screws in each board.
The second project was a 2 part wall. The wall was going right in front of our trailer where the sand just falls forward. So first they had to dig out where they wanted the wall and then level the bricks and build it up. Dad was a little annoyed that he could not lift the 80 pound bricks but neither could I.... so Reuben got to move most of them with the help of Mom, Arlen and Robyn. So on Sunday the little wall went up and on Monday they dug parts of the big wall and on Wednesday the rest of the wall was built. Finishing touches went down Thursday morning before Mom and Dad left.
The finished wall is actually 1 lower then this photo but it shows you all the hard work they had to do. They have extra bricks for when we have to rebuild part of the wall in the fall becuase of last years flooding. So in time, those bricks will disappear.
The last project was to see the newest Reedyk... and she is ADORABLE! Way bigger then her older sisters were at birth but such a cutie.
All in all we had a great weekend. The kids were in the hot tub for the most part and i spent a lot of time in a chair. The last few days were wet and rainy but we were thankful for the hot tub. Tianna can now swim to the bottom and pick up toys and hold her breath for 10 seconds under water. By the end of our next vacation at the cabin she will be swimming in circles in the lake. The girls also went up the mountain most mornings with Pake, Beppe and Reuben. They love catching butterflies, finding animal poopies and searching out tricky paths. I can't wait to go up there with them in August. I love that every time they walked up there i was brought flowers, it made me smile every time.
Lastly, the highlight of my weekend was my dad. If you know my dad at all you would have known how much it pained him not to be able to wakeboard last year. Well.... this year. He got UP, stayed up and went 2 times in the week! Here is a small video of him coming in.
