a week till calgary....

Time has flown... today is a week till we leave.  Its so crazy.  Crazy to think that in 2 weeks i will be with my hubbie enjoying the eat coast and in 3 weeks the kids will be on day 3 of school.  At the start of the summer it looked like 9 weeks were going to be soooo long.  So long to be away from home, so long to be away from most screens, so long to be outside almost all day every day and so long to be separated from Reuben.  Our anniversary came and went, each week passed like it was nothing.  Some days went really long and some days flashed by like the blink of an eye.  The girls are starting now to go a little cabin crazy so we are doing a few more day trips which is nice.  So here sums up my summer:
We is a summary of our 54 days so far

  • And i am sure i am missing a bunch, sorry :)

Its been an amazing trip that i fretted about for a long time.  The hardest part for me was space, how so i make our tiny trailer home for 9 weeks.  How do I transfer very little storage space into a house that doesn't feel like its closing in on me?  How do i limit the amount of clothing we have and yet still feel like have a choice in our clothing?  How do i manage naps and big kids in the space if there is rain?  So many questions and so many of them never came across my mind.

However, one thing i have done every 2 weeks or so, i call it my bucket day.  Its when I empty the buckets of the girls clothing and sometimes Riley's and organize them back into order.  It amazes me how a 6 and 8 year old girls can make a bucket so so messy.  Here is what i mean....

The bucket of disaster....
The bottom of the bucket... where still folded up clothes remain unworn.....

All newly folded clothes sorted and ready to go back into the bucket, laundry removed, newly washed clothes returned...

ahhhhh...  it all still fits.... for at least a few hours :)
And now... to return them to their spots in the trailer.... once riley wakes up from his nap.  And to do another load of laundry of all the dirty clothes i found in their buckets.... ya!

Anyways... my life, simple and easy, easier than i every thought it would be.  My worries are gone and relaxation is here in full throttle.  I am not ready to go back to reality in a week but that is reality.  For now, i will relax, read another book and enjoy the sun while Riley sleeps.

12 sleeps till we are reunited!!!!!!!!!!
