2012 in a nut shell

So here is the highlights from 2012 for us.....

In January and February Tianna and Reuben went a few times to try out skating.  Tianna was a bit unsure and the skates kept falling off but we could not find skates small enough for her size 6 foot so we figured we would leave it for another year.

February also brought a trip to Edmonton for Andrea's birthday.

 In March my mom turned 50.  It was not the big shin dig we had originally wanted to do but it was so special nonetheless.   Julieann made a beautiful cake that we all enjoyed.  We went for dinner at Old Spaghetti and then had a family gathering on Sunday.

In March we took a few days to redue Tianna's room with new floors, new bed and dresser.  We also moved the girls into the same room for the first time which has become a permanent placement.

April was a busy month.  It was the start of the dutch invasion.  My Pake, Beppe and Tante Jeltje came from holland to visit my dad. We had all weather while they were here, even a good wet snow fall.  We went to the zoo and telus science centre.  Tim, Dee and Jett also came to visit.

 After Pake, Beppe and Jeltje left Siebe and Rinkje came.  We celebrated Tim's 30th birthday and then welcomed Henk and Tinikje to Canada.  We started to enjoy the outside more as spring was on its way.

 May Long weekend was a trip to the cabin to "help" rebuild the deck.  It was great to get out there and relax for a few days.

 June brought along my first 5km race.  I was challenged by a friend who was doing a 10km run and so i started with a 5km.  My time was 32 minutes on the rainy day in the river valley of Calgary.  It was a very busy run with an extra large hill in the middle.

 In June we also tackled more renos.  3 layers of wallpaper removed, new carpet and new paint meant that the room was ready for Robyn to move into.

 In July my parents took the girls to the cabin so that we could replace the floors in our master bedroom and take down the wood panels finally.  There were a few hiccups along the way but we got new windows and then Geraldine came to paint and stage our room.  It was like coming home to a hotel!

August started with a bang with a trip to the Cabin.  We had a BLAST in the sun.  The girls LOVED every moment.  Tianna even started jumping off the end of the dock with us in her life jacket.

 After the cabin we went to Edmonton for a weekend.

September found us home again for a little while.  Still enjoying the sunshine and warm weather.  It also brought back Jeltje and this time she came with her hubbie Chris.  We also celebrated Kaydence's 2nd birthday.

 Reuben got a week off in October to redue the living room and dining room floors.

 Other then the renos it was a quiet month.

 For Halloween we carved pumpkins and the girls were dressed as fairies by day and a flower and cat by night (it was too cold for the fairy costumes)

 

 November we did some renos at the bakery and celebrated Tianna's Birthday.

December was Reuben's birthday, Christmas and my Birthday.  December, like usual was very busy.  We also built Tianna a new bed so the girls room feels so much bigger.

 All in all, i am sure i am missing a few events but that about sums it up.... now i feel a little more up to date and i can take on 2013 with a fresh new start!
