Day 3, Bikes and Helmets

Today began with great debate, to go to church or not.  We chose not too, the girls would have to be with us in church instead of nursery and other than the few songs we might know in English we would get little out of the service.  Plus Jeroen was in the nursery so he could not try and translate for us.  So..... instead we went for a bike ride.  Or tried to at least.....

Jeroen and his family left for church at 9:30 and we started to get organized but showers and breakfast took up more time than aniticapted so we got off on the bikes late.  Jeroen spent much of the morning before church trying to get both seats on Merieke's "mom" bike with the seats so that we could take both girls on the bike.  Reuben had to do a tiny bit more but at almost 11 we were on the road.  As we pulled out Jeroen and Merieke pulled in with the car..... opps, we took way longer than anticipated, oh well, we went anyways.  We went out of Peize north towards Groningen, turned onto the bike path in Peizerwold west towards Roderwolde and than back south to Roden and back to Peize.  We were gone for about 45 minutes.  We stopped at a windmill and got a little lost but made our way without much delay.  Reuben started with the girls on his bike and then we switched so I could have a turn with the girls for a while.  It was a workout but I loved it.  I want so bad to be able to bike with both girls in Canada.  I HATE our rules about helmets, i think that on the bike paths we should be able to ride with our kids no matter the age or head size.  Even if I had to drive to Edworthy or Glenmore to start by trip I just want to bike with Kaydence and Tianna.  I will miss this dearly when we leave Holland.  In Holland, as soon as a child can sit on their own they can go in the bike seats.  Before that age they have a car seat adapter that allows you to attach a carseat to your bike. (I would love one of these too but again, you cannot wear a helmet in a carseat).

Anyways, enough about my ranting.  After we went biking and had lunch all 4 kids went for a nap and everyone chatted outside in the warm sun.  The boys went inside onto the computers while Merieke and I talked about our pregnancies, labors and babes.  It was interesting to hear about her births and pregnancies.  When the kids got up we went for a walk to feed the goats, but they had been fed too much so were not interested in more food from us.  Tianna decided not to feed the goats the bread but ate the 2 slices of bread herself.... so much for supper :(  After the goats we went to the horses who willingly accepted the bread.  Then it was time for a short trip to the park, home and supper.  After supper was a bath for the girls, 2 in a tub and Sven went afterwards.  It was cute to see the girls all in the tub at the same time.  Once again we were amazed that the girls went to bed smoothly, being in a new place, new time zone we have been nothing but thankful for our awesome sleeping babes.

When the kids were asleep Jeroen asked us if Merieke could go to a friend's brithday party.  We said, totally, go..... no problem.  With Merieke gone, we played "peguin party", a wonderful game we hope to bring home and teach people at the cabin..... if we can find it before we go home.  At 11:30 we packed it in for the night and went to bed.

For you waiting for photos they will have to wait till the next house becuase Pake and Beppe only have thier computer and i do not want to load all my photos onto their computer for facebook.  Sorry.... you will have to wait for the weekend.
